Certification Pathways
Instructor Certification Pathway
Every Apprentice follows a structured pathway toward leadership.
Apprentice (3 Months to be Certified)
Learn the foundations of SDMG through education, film study, mentorship, and personal development.
Assistant (6 Months to be Certified)
Begin assisting Drum during educational activities while continuing to develop technical skills and leadership.
Captain (1 Year to be Certified)
Demonstrate leadership, responsibility, and the ability to mentor newer Apprentices under Drum's guidance.
Trainer (2 Years to be Certified)
Develop one-on-one instructional skills while continuing to grow as an educator.
Coach (3 Years to be Certified)
Lead educational group sessions, support Apprentice development, and strengthen leadership abilities.
Director (4 Years to be Certified)
Learn advanced leadership, directing, choreography, production, and Academy operations under Drum's mentorship.
Leadership is earned through education, consistency, and demonstrated growth.
Educational Support
SDMG believes education should be accessible and supported whenever possible.
Eligible Apprentices may receive Educational Support Credits based on participation, professionalism, continued growth, and available program resources.
These credits may be used toward approved educational support such as food, school supplies, hygiene items, or other Apprentice resources authorized by SDMG.
Scholarship Opportunities
When available, SDMG may award Full or Partial Apprenticeship Scholarships to selected students.
A Full Scholarship covers the cost of participating in the SDMG Apprenticeship Academy and allows recipients to complete the educational program without paying tuition or program fees.
Scholarships are awarded at the sole discretion of Drum, Founder and Director of SDMG, and are based on available funding, program resources, and other factors determined by SDMG.
Receiving a scholarship is a privilege, not a guarantee, and scholarship opportunities may change from time to time.e.

Graduation
The goal of the SDMG Apprenticeship Academy is to develop knowledgeable, confident, and capable leaders.
Graduation is not based solely on time. It is earned through education, evaluations, demonstrated growth, and a commitment to the values and standards of SDMG.
